The German parliament has backed a new law to allow the recreational use of cannabis
The German parliament have voted in favor on the final agreement proposed by the coalition government on a bill to legalise cannabis, resolving outstanding disagreements that had delayed action.
The law was passed today, moving to the Bundesrat on March 22nd. By April 1st, the cannabis ban is likely to be lifted, allowing adults to grow cannabis at home and possess small quantities, while cannabis clubs will be allowed from July 1.
With Germany removing cannabis from its narcotics classification. It will allow an increase in patient access and a boom in cannabis clubs.
Other European countries are expected to follow some sort of updated regulations. These include Spain, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Greece.
Medical cannabis is forecasting to have strong growth in 2024 and in 2025 have global expansion.
